I met Andrea Hirata for the first time...

I was very happy…Why? Coz I met my favorite writer, ANDREA HIRATA. I came to the event held by Pusat Studi Wanita UGM although the seats were full. Fortunately I arrived there on time. He looked handsome with a black hat covering his curly hair. He wore a formal, white-lined, black shirt and a jeans combined. It looked casual and simple. I was speechless to make a comment about him. I didn’t believe, it was like a dream, how easy I met Bang Andrea or Ikal?

I’ve owned his 3 books of Tetralogy Laskar Pelangi, namely Laskar Pelangi, Sang Pemimpi and Edensor. Did you know? I had stories behind each book. First I bought Edensor when I had someone I lowed was inside of me. Second, I bought Sang Pemimpi when on the way after I bought this book, I met someone I loved with the other person I hate (Hiks..hiks..hiks..so sad). Last but not least, I bought Laskar Pelangi when someone I loved was not inside of me, but I was very happy coz after I bought it I met Andrea Hirata… so unbelievable! If you can feel what I feel, you’ll also happy to feel what I feel..

I was admiring Andrea’s books about the stories which can be inspirations to my life. He can write the experience of his life into easy reading language. He makes the readers as if the character of his book. He brings us to be a part of the story. He is a really smart writer although he is not a letter’s graduation. I have new spirits after reading his books and knowing the story of Andrea Hirata’s life.

Honestly, I’m crazy about his works and life. When he said “I love a woman who wears veil”, directly I’ll register to be his …. (Ups, I think it’s impossible) I’m just a secret admirer of him…

Well, I hope Andrea Hirata always makes great books which can give new spirit to survive in this life although doing this life nowadays is very hard.

I’m waiting for the last book of Tetralogy Laskar Pelangi, Maryamah Karpov…
